Home Reviews ,,,,, We recently discovered Mifa, a new brand that produces Bluetooth speakers. We tested the A1 and F10 models for a few weeks, different by category but similar in size, power and price range. One, F10, is more suitable for listening to music in the open air, the other, A1, fits in one hand but alone can fill a medium-sized room.
The strength of this brand is not only in the audio quality but also in that of the materials, treated and finished down to the smallest detail. Below is an analysis of the two speakers and our impressions at the end of the tests.
F10, how it's done
Mifa F10 is a circular speaker, 8.3 cm in diameter and 3.7 cm thick. The case is made of very sturdy polycarbonate, locked with hexagonal screws that strengthen the joints. To the touch it is quite solid and apparently capable of resisting bumps and falls, thanks to this impression also the large rubber frame that covers most of the speaker.
On one side there is a hook to be able to fix the carabiner included in the package, a practical solution to be able to hang the case to the loop of the trousers or to the buckle of a backpack. The base is surrounded by a rubber ring that allows it to be placed on a flat surface without it slipping off.
The upper surface is perforated and protects the 3W driver, while along the edge we find the On / Off keys, (+), (-) and a cap that protects the microUSB input for battery charging and the microSD slot for reading audio files without Bluetooth pairing with a smartphone.
A1, how it's done
Roughly, Mifa A1 is as big as F10. The shape changes, it is in fact a parallelepiped of 8.5 x 8.5 x 4.5 centimeters, with a more elegant and refined design. The whole case is made of polycarbonate covered with a layer of rubber that is very pleasant to touch, even if it easily collects fingerprints. On the upper side there are the On / Off, (-) and (+) buttons while on the back there is the cover that protects the microUSB input for battery charging, the microSD slot and the AUX socket.
On the base there are two very sticky rubber feet, at an angle the two holes to fix the wrist strap included in the package while the front side is covered in woven fabric, to protect the built-in 5W driver.
How are they doing
The quality of the speakers is almost similar. Both faithfully reproduce all frequencies, with excellent mid-high performance and better bass reproduction for the A1, thanks to the presence of the passive radiator.
At maximum volume they sound really loud, unbelievable considering the small size of the case. The manufacturer has in fact optimized the spaces by integrating drivers with superior sound performance into such small speakers, especially if you compare it to most of the audio speakers of the same size currently on the market.
Both speakers, as we said, have a rubber stabilization system precisely because if it were not there, they would “dance” on the support surface. In fact, we tried to place both on the desk making them rest on a side free from the rubber and with songs like Brass Monkey by Beastie Boys or Silent Shout by The Knife, the result was seeing them skip to the rhythm of music on the surface.
Technical data
As for autonomy, the F10 ensures approximately 9-10 hours of continuous playback at maximum volume, while for the A1 the overall autonomy rises to approximately 12 hours. Both are IP56 certified, therefore resistant to dust and water jets, with greater resistance for F10 as regards bumps and falls.
Conclusions and price to the public
The two speakers of Mifa are truly complete products, and a real bargain if you compare them at the selling price. Mifa F10 costs 19.99 euros while Mifa A1 costs 22.99 euros, very competitive prices not only for the guaranteed sound performance but for the care and quality of the materials, superior to most of the competing solutions on the market. Those looking for a good quality speaker to amplify the music of the smartphone or listen to that stored in a microSD card, will find in both speakers a valid product, powerful and also beautiful to look at.
