Home iPadia iPad Accessories ,,,,, Cyber Layman tests the Mifa speaker, or rather it would be speaking in the plural considering that, in addition to playing individually, it is possible to combine two of them to get a full stereo sound. As a famous ice cream advertisement said, “Two is better than one”. Here are the results of our test.
How it's done
The Mifa speaker, first of all, looks very good aesthetically. It has no original or particularly showy shapes, but appears as a small rectangle, very well finished, with a glossy perimeter and a push-button panel on the top. Elegant and minimal enough to be placed in any corner of the home or office, while on the rear the dual driver configuration feels bass present, but well controlled and balanced. The rubber pads at the bottom, on the other hand, allow the speaker to hold firmly on any smooth surface, even with the bass in action.
Audio-wise the speaker offers Dual 15W drivers deliver, while the DSP-3D chip and dual Class-G amplifier deliver a truly clean sound experience. What is most interesting, however, is the presence of TWS technology, which allows you to pair two identical Mifa speakers via Bluetooth, to create a stereo system. The built-in battery is 4000 mAh which offers up to 12 hours of continuous playback, and takes about 3.5 hours to fully recharge through the supplied Micro-USB cable.
The speaker has measures contained in 19 x 4.8 x 6.6 cm and weighs only 516 grams, with an integrated microphone so that it can also be used for hands-free calls. On the back, however, there are 3.5 mm AUX connector, MicroSD compartment for playback from an external memory card, and MicroUSB connector for charging.
How it sounds (no)
Mifa speakers can be purchased separately and can therefore play independently of each other, giving up a true stereo effect. Even individually, the speaker is absolutely good. It has a particularly loud volume, above average for speakers of the same price, and offers very good sound quality. The sound is well balanced, absolutely controlled, even in the bass, which are well present, but which do not exceed. The sound is crystal clear, crisp and clean as you would not expect from a speaker of this price.
We were amazed from the first start by the musical cleanliness offered by this small speaker, which sounds good, whatever the chosen musical genre, resulting balanced in all its aspects.
Of course, the extra gear is heard, and is noticeable, when pairing the second speaker. In this case the stereo sound is automatically managed by the TWS technology, which distributes the sound in the two speakers. The sonic cleanliness remains, of course, but with a renewed power, which emanates from the different speakers. At maximum volume the two speakers are able to completely flood a medium / large room, always maintaining a control that never leads to excesses: the sound is always clean without ever presenting distortions.
How they match
Pairing between a speaker and a phone is simple and traditional: just turn on the speaker and press the top Bluetooth button. Subsequently, from the BT menu of your smartphone it will be possible to choose the Mifa A20 speaker to pair it. At this point, anyone who also owns the second speaker will only have to turn it on: the two speakers will automatically talk to each other within a few seconds.
Conclusions
The Mifa A20 speaker is a pleasant surprise compared to the purchase price. Even on its own it sounds really good, with optimal sonic cleanliness, a particularly high volume and a good bass balance. The novelty is the pairing of two speakers for stereo sound, which really makes a difference. Too bad that Amazon lacks an option for the combined purchase with a discount of two speakers.
The Mifa speaker can be purchased on Amazon directly at this address at the price of 39.99 euros.
