Google in fact wants beginners to learn and experiment the basics of ' 3D animation thanks to a new tool called Monster Mash , a web-based open source project . We are sure it will provide hours of fun for the older ones too.
3D animation is not an easy thing. Each stage of the process is incredibly complicated and often requires the work of teams, even numerous , to create small animated scenes. As Google explains in his blog, other types of art and creative expression usually have a “ random mode ” that allows newbies to experiment quickly new ideas before moving on to something more complex. Monster Mash wants to put itself in this direction, keeping the whole two-dimensional creative process and using the AI to predict what the final product should look like .
You will have to start by drawing the body of your creature, then continuing with the limbs , but leaving open the parts that intersect the body (as in the first image of the gallery at the end of the article). This aspect is important because it will make the AI understand that it should extend seamlessly from the main body rather than being a part of it. A double click on the limb will highlight it in red, indicating that there should be a mirrored version on the other side of the 3D model . Pressing the “ inflate ” key will show you the finished 3D model . Now, using the “ animate ” tab you can choose the part of the body you want to animate . Here you can move it to any position you want and create multiple pivot points using the same method. You can record these movements and make complex animations of them, all thanks to the artificial intelligence behind the scenes that understands what you are trying to do.
