Mpow H4 review, over-ear Bluetooth headphones with digital equalizer

Home Reviews ,,,,,They are not headphones for audiophiles but they are excellent for relaxing with some good music isolating yourself from the outside world: Mpow H4 are the over-ear headphones that we have tried in recent days and which stand out mainly for the possibility of being accompanied to a 'app specially designed to adjust the equalization, thus adapting them to multiple musical genres.

Mpow H4

In the box

The headphones are sold inside a hard case with a fabric lining on the outside and something like microfleece on the inside. The case is very thin and easy to carry, and to achieve this the company has decided to allow the pavilions to be folded in a different way than usual: instead of closing them inside the arch, they rotate around their own axis of 45 degrees. , practically “flattening” inside the case.

If on the one hand we find the headphones, the other half of the case is occupied by a perforated pocket containing the charging cable, a 3.5mm jack cable for cable connection and the instruction booklet.

How are they made

The headphones are built entirely of good quality polycarbonate, satin to the touch and strengthened by a metal core that can be glimpsed when the pavilions are distanced from the headband to adjust their length. They weigh around 250 grams and are quite comfortable due to the excellent padding that we find both in the headband and in the pads of the pavilions, with foam inside and a soft leather-like cover outside.

Unlike others, they offer all the useful controls to manage music playback directly along the frame of both pavilions. On the left we find the On / Off button which also acts as a Play / Pause button, the hole for the microphone and the two audio jack and microUSB inputs for charging the internal battery protected by two silicone caps. On the left pavilion there are instead the two keys for adjusting the volume and two others for skipping tracks (in this way we will not have to learn the click sequences as it happens in other headphones with keys that share multiple functions as here each will perform one action).

How are they doing

The audio quality is in line with the price range: the headphones offer excellent reproduction of the entire sound spectrum, with clean and crystalline highs, enveloping mids and present and full-bodied bass. They are also excellent from the point of view of acoustic insulation: the pavilions are able to envelop the whole ear, isolating the user from external noises even when turned off, so you can also think of wearing them to rest on the sofa or find greater concentration. while studying or reading a book, while perhaps a person in the next room is watching television or listening to some music on the stereo.

The app

Thanks to the Cool Pro Sound app (for iOS and Android) it is possible to adjust the equalization by customizing the curve of the various frequencies (5.1 dB, 4.0 dB, 3.6 dB, 6.5 dB and 9.4 dB), thus adapting the volume of highs, mids and bass according to the music genre being listened to.

Conclusions

The Mpow H4 headphones are comfortable to wear, they do not tire the ear as they do not touch it even completely enveloping it thanks to the large pavilion and the audio quality is excellent for being able to appreciate the frequencies of a playlist while relaxing on the sofa.

Retail price

The headphones are on sale on Amazon for € 52.99.
