The Mutrics Smart Sunglasses project, that is the idea of combining a pair of sunglasses with an audio diffusion system via Bluetooth, is not an absolute novelty on the market, however in the model we examine in this review it is applied in interesting ways and with a trendy look that will surely appeal to the youngest.
On the other hand, in summer, sunglasses are often used anyway, and the convenience of being able to listen to music while still keeping the ears free and ready to pick up the ambient noises is absolutely interesting and in some way decisive for those who literally want ” mix “music and listening to what is around us.
Mutrics Smart Sunglasses, the review
The right point of view
Mutrics Smart Sunglasses must be considered, in fact, a pair of smart glasses with integrated diffusers and not, as we had instead estimated at the beginning, as a diffusion system that uses the glasses.
The difference is very important and affects a lot on the final judgment and we want to underline it also with the readers, because they have to frame the product in the right amibito.
This is clear from the very well-finished packaging: the box mixes parts in imitation leather and reflective details well, with a well-maintained opening system far from the practicality of typical smart accessories.
Inside, then, the glasses immediately find space and, more hidden, the USB charging cable, the rubber button cover (completely optional), a tissue handkerchief for cleaning the lenses and a soft velvet bag for transport .

Trendy, but pay attention to details
We tried and let friends and colleagues try the Mutrics Smart Sunglasses and everyone was of the opinion that the glasses are well made, even if a little peculiar in their decidedly large shape compared to the more classic models we are used to.
Needless to say, the shape and color are designed for the youngest, even if there is no lack of attention to detail: the lenses are UV400 and able to block 99% of UVA / UVB rays and are interchangeable in the various colors, as well as being IP55 certified, therefore protected against dust and dirt.
In fact, the glasses can be worn and used even without smart functions, especially in summer: Bluetooth pairing is still very simple and a click on the button is still a matter of a moment.

Music maestro
We used an iPhone 8 as a music source and Vox as a music player for a couple of weeks, using the Mutrics Smart Sunglasses around Milan.
Once the music is turned on, it exploits the bone vibrations to propagate the music and everything happens in a very positive way, even if in fact in a place of silence, those close to it perceive the audio, even if very muffled.
The strangest thing, at least at the beginning, is to be able to listen to music without wearing headphones, with full, natural listening to the audio coming from the outside, including the speaker, as if it were an external speaker. , which, however, you feel (almost) only you.

On the subway, on the bus, on the street and partially even on the train or plane, using the Mutrics Smart Sunglasses is not a problem, because the external noise perfectly covers the extra audio, just as in the car these glasses are a boon because they leave the ears perfectly open for all external sounds.
The quality of the music is good, considering the inevitable compromises and praise also goes to the technological research, which has optimized the audio streams and the size of the chip integrated in the auction.
The three buttons offer volume and playback control and, using the iPhone as a bridge, it is also possible to use SIRI, as well as of course answer phone calls.
Ultimately the batteries: Mutrics states that the life is estimated at eight hours, but in our opinion they could be even more because used in a messy way, they lasted almost a week.
Considerations
We liked the Mutrics Smart Sunglasses a lot. starting from the idea and ending with the use, very practical (for the writer, particularly useful in the car, but also on the beach).
The ability to listen to music without having our ears busy allowed us to drive with peace of mind listening to Hans Zimmer via Mutrics and the news of a football match on the radio while driving, as well as having music within reach. hand without always having to look for headphones.
The only flaw, if you can call it that, is that the shape is clearly inspired by the millennial generation and those who are a few years older might prefer something more classic, but over time we are sure that products with alternative designs will not fail to arrive.
