Google is always intent on trying to improve its products and often performs tests on new functions . This time it was YouTube , who announced that will start not showing the number of dislikes of a video.
As stated by YouTube himself on his Twitter profile, this new choice was made following the reports of some content creators , who were victims of campaigns aim to fill their videos thumbs down . Obviously the owner of the video will still be able to see the number of likes and dislikes , but the latter will remain invisible to viewers .
At the moment it is not clear how extensive the test is , nor if it will also affect smartphone apps or just the website. Anyway, let us know in the comments if the dislike number is hidden for some channels.
👍👎 In response to creator feedback around well-being and targeted dislike campaigns, we're testing a few new designs that don't show the public dislike count. If you're part of this small experiment, you might spot one of these designs in the coming weeks (example below!). pic.twitter.com/aemrIcnrbx
