Home Hi-Tech Android World ,,,, cof, A smartphone with four cameras is certainly a novelty in the panorama and not even the leading companies in the sector have gone as far. At the moment Apple and other protagonists in the Android world have proposed a maximum of three cameras, with a double configuration on the rear and a front camera on the front. Oukitel goes further, with a dual rear camera and a dual front camera; moreover in a smartphone for less than 80 euros.
It is easy to understand how in such an inexpensive smartphone it is impossible to insert quality. We anticipate right now that the four cameras add absolutely nothing to the multimedia experience, which remains that of an inexpensive entry level terminal. In short, a feature that attracts on paper, but that does not actually raise the quality level.
At aesthetic levels, Oukitel U22 has shapes that do nothing for original results, but still remain pleasant. It offers a large 5.5-inch diagonal screen with non-backlit soft touch keys located outside the screen. Power button and volume rocker on the right, headphone jack on the top and micro USB input on the bottom. Front and rear details, where a double photographic module stands out. The one on the front does not weigh down on the eye and is always on the top, and the rear one is also more restricted, small in size, flanked by the LED flash. A little further down, however, there is a fingerprint sensor, which naturally does not respond with maximum speed and precision, but can still be used with an unlock that occurs correctly about seven times out of ten.
Beyond the aesthetics of the terminal, which in any case does not mind also in consideration of the low cost of the device, it is the weight that weighs down the trouser pocket. In fact, Oukitel U22 measures 76 x 154.2 x 9.6 mm, for 187 grams: they are many, even in relation to the battery, from just 2700 mAh. In terms of technical characteristics, Oukitel U22 relies on a Mediatek MT6580A Quad-Core CPU at 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7, Mali-400 GPU, all supported by 2GB of RA and 16GB of integrated memory. The screen benefits from a 5.5-inch IPS panel with HD resolution. It is not among the best, considering that the pixel grid is somewhat visible to a trained eye and that it is not very readable under direct sunlight. The colors are still good and it is pleasant in indoor areas, however not directly illuminated by light sources. This is a configuration that is not at the top, but which is in line with the price of 79 euros at which it is found on Amazon, which drops to 65 euros if you turn to Chinese sites, such as GearBest.
In everyday life it can be used without particular problems, even if certainly the terminal is not lightning and feels unresponsive on many occasions. It is the classic low cost smartphone that allows you to take advantage of the entire Android universe, with some compromises deriving from certainly not performing hardware.
Coming to the multimedia department, as already mentioned, the presence of four rooms is only a reminder on paper, which adds nothing to a normal photographic department present on any low cost smartphone. This can also be understood from the technical numbers of the sensors: 8 + 0.3 Megapixel on the rear and 5 + 0.3 Megapixel on the front.
Paradoxically, if Oukitel U22 had only had two chambers, one rear and one front, it would have been better. With a four-chamber module, however, expectations are higher in the abstract and finding oneself with a lower quality than those of a mid-range smartphone with a single chamber certainly reduces enthusiasm. The images taken with oukitel U22 have the standard quality of any low-end Chinese smartphone. The “broken” effect (as written in the camera app), for example, is far from those achievable with a dual camera mid-range and looks more like a software effect (not too bad, after all) than a result hardware. Even black and white photos do not benefit from the double photographic module and also in this case the B / W result seems only a software filter applied to the photo. In short, the photos are those of a low cost terminal, and the four rooms work no better than a standard single room configuration.
Conclusions
Oukitel U22 is cheap and this is its weapon to convince the purchase. A 5.5-inch terminal that can serve as a forklift or to be entrusted to those who do not have many pretensions, but still want to be able to text on WhatsApp and browse some web pages. The four cameras, on the other hand, are a feature on paper, to attract attention, not able to return photos of superior quality; all in all they are in line with the 79 euro terminal.
Oukitel U22 costs 79.99 euros on Amazon in the different white or black color. For those wishing to save, however, it is possible to buy it on GearBest for 65 euros, also in black or white.
