Connection Failure. Error 503 Service Unavailable. Have you seen similar warnings today? No, it's not internet down (but it's still a big problem).
Not everyone probably knows Fastly , but if today you have problems navigating some famous services, it's probably your fault, and it's immediately # internetdown . It is a cloud platform on which many online services rely, and which right now is the victim of a strong disservice, as you can see from its own status update.
Some examples of services affected are:
- Twitch
- Stack Overflow
- Vimeo
- Deliveroo
- Amazon
- Spotify
- The Fork
The list is so long that we don't know how to give it to you in full. In some cases, such as that of Amazon or Spotify , the entire site is not offline, but some (different) resources are not available and therefore are not displayed correctly.
In other words: if you were having problems accessing online services today, there is a good chance that the fault is not the service in question, but that it is related at Fastly. After all, it is the same thing that happened some time ago, when there were problems with Amazon's servers.
Not only that, but according to Repubblica it would also be ongoing a large-scale attack , which would have affected numerous news sites, including New York Times, The Verge, Financial Times, Spectator, Guardian and others.
We are still trying to figure out how everything is connected and we will not fail to update you on this (hoping to stay online in our turn).
The situation appears to have been restored to normal. We will update you in case of news.
