Pure Impact Pro, with the Flex Shield iPhone 7 cover is not afraid of falling

Home Cyber Layman Photo and Video Galleries ,,,,, With iPhone 7 we can finally rest assured if coffee slips on it or if, due to carelessness or a successful joke, we have to fall into a swimming pool with the phone in our pocket. For the first time, Apple has made its smartphone waterproof, but as Square Trade pointed out, there is still a long way to go to make it resistant even to falls.

From this point of view, however, as has been the case for several generations of iPhones, case manufacturers are always ready, right from the launch of the new one, with tailor-made covers that ensure a higher level of protection than the bare and raw smartphone. Among the different solutions currently available, the Impact Pro case by Puro should be noted, characterized by two different models that ensure high protection against falls while maintaining a still attractive design.

Often the problem of competing proposals lies in the aesthetics, with cases that are not only bulky, but also angular and not very nice to see, at least in everyday use. The new Flex Shield and Hard Shield which, on paper, respectively resist falls up to two and three meters in height, do not fall into this category: in making the Flex version available for a more detailed analysis, the manufacturer points out that this linea has also obtained SGS certification, surpassing military standards.

How it's made

The model under test, in our case in the green version, combines flexible anti-yellowing TPU with TPE inserts (recognizable by the different color, white) specially designed to absorb and disperse impact. When you touch it, you are struck by the fact that, although designed to protect the phone from falls of two meters, the footprint is not exaggerated at all. In numbers, the thickness increases by just 2.1 mm , well appreciated also in consideration of the fact that the material, compared to the aluminum of the iPhone, improves taking it both with bare hands and wearing gloves.

The case completely protects the back and edges of the phone, while as regards the display, the frame protrudes a few millimeters, just enough to avoid contact when he puts the phone on the desk face down. The Standby button and the volume adjustment rocker are completely protected by the case thanks to an ad hoc deformation that facilitates pressure and ensures recognition even with eyes closed.

Then there are the right openings to let the microphone and speaker grids breathe, with enough space to be able to interact effortlessly with the Mute switch. The Lightning socket is also accompanied by a large opening which guarantees the coupling of the charging cables, even those with the plug slightly bulkier than that of the original cable .

Obviously, an aperture is also provided for the rear camera that ensures complete operation without affecting the photographic quality. No problem even for flash photography: there is enough space to prevent the light from bouncing off the cover, creating halos of color in the photos, a situation that is not too imaginary as in the past we have had to deal with cases with holes. for the excessively small camera that caused this unpleasant problem.

Finally, the internal surface is particular, characterized by a thin texture with dense raised dots perceptible to the touch which in fact prevent the case from creating unsightly bubbles by sticking on the back, especially near the Apple logo, as happens with the most common silicone covers.

Conclusions

Puro's Flex Shield is dedicated to all users who want to rest assured if the phone falls out of their hand or slips out of their trouser pockets. It does not clutter excessively, especially in relation to the level of protection offered, it ensures excellent handling of the phone and in some cases even improves its grip.

Obviously it does not protect the phone from all possible falls. However resistant it may be, the display remains uncovered: in a hypothetical scenario in which the phone, during a fall, hits a stone or a protruding object directly with the screen, the case cannot be asked to work miracles. Therefore it is always advisable to accompany it with a tempered glass film, of which you will find different versions for sale (even edge-to-edge) at the same company.

We have not talked about it in depth as we have not had the opportunity to try it, but the Hard Shield cover is also part of the same line, which adds a slightly greater thickness (2.9 mm) for an even higher degree of protection: on paper, ensures resistance to falls up to three meters in height.

Price to the public

The Flex Shield cover from Puro's Impact Pro line costs 19.99 euros. It is available in black, red, blue, green and white. The Hard Shield version is available instead at the price of 24.99 euros in black, blue, yellow and white.
