According to the latest rumors, WhatsApp is working on a new messaging feature called message reactions, the ability to react to a text message using an emoji.
Apps like Instagram, Twitter, Signal, Slack, and Facebook Messenger have long offered reactions to messages, so once again, WhatsApp is catching up with the competition.
Evidence of reactions to messages in WhatsApp was first spotted by WABetainfo, which believes the feature will be available in a future update for beta testers. Similar to Instagram, WhatsApp users will be able to add emojis to individual messages once this feature is available to users.
The screenshot shared by WABetainfo also suggests that users will need to run the latest version of WhatsApp to see the reactions.
