The cold is now inexorable and often the use of a pair of gloves, however comfortable, is the enemy of smartphones. And so, the daily lever and switch could certainly cause some problems for all digital natives who would rather continue to perform taps and slides with gloves on. For several years Mujjo has been known not only for quality iPhone covers, but also for the creation of a line up of gloves. Today we try those in stretch fleece, which is a revised and corrected version of the one reviewed last year. Even more comfortable, they fit like a second skin, and are more insulating.
Mujjo gloves, let's say immediately, are excellent allies for iPhone, but also for all Android smartphones. There is, of course, no operating system limitation, but the only obstacle could be represented by the fingerprint sensor, which by now on all new iPhones has been replaced by the Face ID, now also in force on new device models. Android.
In short, gloves in hand, indeed in the hands, there is no longer any reason to undress them in order to fully use your mobile device. As it was last year for the All New Touch Screen Gloves model, this 2019 revision also focuses on a more sporty audience, interested in using gloves in everyday life, on different occasions, such as a bike ride, while going to the office or simply during a walk. In short, gloves suitable for free time, outdoor sports use: there will be an opportunity to protect yourself from the cold.
The design looks like last year's. They are really neat, very minimal, and overall also elegant. Completely black and smooth on the outside, they only show the Mujjo logo, always embroidered in black in the cuffs.
The outer surface is completely smooth, made with a triple layer: 3M Thinsulate enclosed in a “sandwich” structure for an even more important insulation than the previous model, which makes these gloves resistant to wind. Also, unlike the 2018 variant, this new model is lined on the inside with an extra layer of Polar fleece, which greatly improves the overall insulation and makes them soft, warm and comfortable to wear. The thumb portion now also includes 3M Thinsulate, again to improve overall insulation.
It should be noted, as the manufacturer explains, that Thinsulate is proposed as an alternative to down, as it is able to retain heat better, while at the same time being breathable, maintaining these properties even when wet. Finally it is thin, light and flexible, which makes them particularly useful while using the smarthptone.
The look and feel of the gloves is decidedly pleasant and minimal: no visible seams, slightly elastic fit, flexible and not bulky for the hand. Obviously, the glove allows you to control the display with any finger, not only with the index and thumb, as happens in other low cost solutions.
Another detail that shows the attention to detail put by Mujjo in these gloves is in the anti-slip silicone strips that we find in the positions where the grip on the phone is usually exercised. Thanks to them we will safely hold our smartphone or tablet in all conditions.
This year's additions, as already mentioned, make these gloves more insulating and wind resistant. In fact, although in the sales package the words “for use in moderate climates” are indicated, we really noticed a certain sensation of warmth in the hands, even during a bike ride. The grip on the handlebar, as well as the one on the smartphone is optimal, the gloves are extremely flexible and do not feel “bulky” in the hand, actually fitting like a second skin.
Not a small detail, the gloves have been optimized for ever larger screens and displays. Meeting customer feedback, the team redesigned the parts of the thumb to make them fully conductive and optimized when reaching the corners of larger touchscreens. In fact, we have not encountered any kind of problem in use with a Galaxy Note 10+, which certainly does not fear comparisons in terms of display size.
Conclusion
Excellent. Beautiful to the eye, with an excellent grip, really warm and comfortable. Recommended for universal use throughout the day, and also for sports use. These are gloves with an extremely linear, minimal and neutral look, able to protect from the cold, and useful during winter training. Of course, perfect from a touch point of view. They are perfect if you are looking for gloves able to protect you from the cold, not to clutter too much, to be used in many areas of everyday life, both with iOS and with Android.
Before buying them, we recommend that you take a look at the size guide: choosing the right one, and then wearing them like a second skin will be essential for comfort and correct use.
