Salesforce, owner of Slack, enters the world of streaming video

Salesforce, the software giant that owns Slack, has announced that it will enter the world of streaming. Unlike services such as Netflix, Disney + or HBO Max, it will focus on content aimed at professional audiences . As reported by Axios, the professional video on demand service will be called Salesforce + and will be officially launched next September at the annual conference called Dreamforce. However, some details are already known that are the differential of this “novel” proposal.

Salesforce + will have two axes. On the one hand, the content via streaming that can be viewed at any time and, in parallel, the live events . In both cases, viewers will be able to enjoy themes presented by specialists from the world's leading companies such as IBM, Levi's and GoFundMe, Coca-Cola and others.

All content will be cataloged across four main channels: Primetime for news and announcements, Trailblazer for training content, Customer 360 for success stories, and Industry Channels for industry-specific offerings.

Apparently, Salesforce wants to take this service seriously and understands that content is one of the pillars of its success. For this, it has hired more than 50 professionals from different areas to produce the videos that will give life to its platform, according to Axios in the public article this Tuesday.

Salesforce + free… what's the catch?

Salesforce ensures that its streaming content service will be free. As if this were not enough, it indicates that it does not have short-term monetization plans and that it will not have external advertising . This can be a bit strange and unusual in a world where services of this type are paid or, on the contrary, have advertising.

The company's strategy seems to be to attract the public to end up using one of its services . It should be noted that these range from the professional communication service Slack to the popular CRM called Sales Cloud.

Among the first on-demand content to be available on launch day are series on leadership and career skills. Likewise, the segment of live videos will be released by the Dreamforce transmission in which more details of the service will be announced.
