After months spent on an old chair, with the prospect of spending as many, we decided to invest in this sense, in a product worthy of our back: the choice (thoughtful and painful) fell on the Secret Lab Titan 2020, and without realizing it we are join a select group of exclusivity, class and enthusiasm.
Those who read these pages know that it is not difficult to get excited about a product, however it usually has lights or some USB connector, here instead we are faced with a riot of precision, softness and solidity.
Secret Lab Titan 2020, the review
From Starcraft to a more than important choice
Secret Lab, an English brand that owes its origins to two professional Starcraft players, is a very young brand and little known in Italy by the general public.
Yet when it comes to comfortable, durable, classy chairs but designed with character, the name of Secret Lab comes out immediately. Fame is well deserved, but marketing plays its part.
First of all, the purchase cannot be made in the store or on Amazon or other portals, the only way for us Italians is to buy the chair from the website of the parent company.
The shop is very well done, it goes without saying: the three models available (Omega, Titan and Titan XL) are quite similar but differ above all in some details of the seat, the graphics and the destination to the physicality of the user: the possible customizations are very beautiful, from the material (imitation leather, fabric and leather) to the applicable graphics (when ordering) that start from the eSport teams up to the most popular games (Overwatch, Dota, Dark Knight) to the TV series ( “Game of Thrones”), although not all of them are always available.

What is surprising is the order system: from what we understand everything is managed in “batches”, so once the pre-order has been carried out, the end of the batch is awaited for the actual construction of the chair and the shipment, which takes place in almost a month.
A significant detail that makes the owners of a Secret Lab chair a small club, made up of people who strongly wanted the product, a little for the price (not exactly popular) and a little for the adventure of ordering. On Facebook there are several dedicated pages, including unofficial ones, which follow the purchase.
The arrival
The model we have chosen, the Secret Lab Titan 2020, arrives in a very generous box in terms of dimensions and weight: inside, in addition to the cardboard graphics that illustrate the assembly phases (but there are several videos on the site) and the compliments on the purchase (of Razeriana memory), there is the actual chair disassembled into three large parts: the floor lamp, the seat and the backrest, plus all the accessories.

Assembling the chair is a procedure that takes about an hour, thanks to the extraordinary work of packaging and marketing. Despite the elbow work, the scent of class and exclusivity emerges in every detail, from the metal of the skeleton to the accompanying tools (such as the screwdriver and screws) in a rubber profile to the study of the pieces embedded in the cardboard box.
There is some attention to the movements, and it would be better to do everything in two because some pieces are heavy, but we reassure readers: if you follow the videos or the instructions on paper in a religious way, there will be no problems in this regard.
The first session is never forgotten
Did we already say that Secret Lab Titan 2020 is not a chair like the others? Well, because when you have finished assembling it and pulled up the backrest, the first time you sit down, everything looks simply fantastic.
But let us explain: Secret Lab Titan 2020 does not envelop the user like a mattress, it offers a soft seat but with an excellent substance and above all with a strong, unwavering, feeling of control over every aspect of the chair.
The writer loves to stay with his feet resting on the floor (like wheels), so not in contact with the ground and from time to time let go with his back: the Titan bends gently, always in perfect balance, to stop at about 160 ° suggesting that if we are tired we can sleep in it, the body is still in safe balance and someone says so at the limit of 190 cm.
The controls present allow you to raise or lower the seat, to activate or deactivate the inclination, to adjust the hardness of the backrest with a very precise gauge and to maintain absolute control over the armrests with 4D movements.
Characteristics
Our Secret Lab Titan 2020 model has arrived in PRIME 2.0 PU leather, a kind of very elastic but perfectly adherent imitation leather: the underlying seams are in plain sight and it seems that basically it is not impossible to remove the cover and replace it after a few years too. if, we read, the 2020 version should have a coating four times longer than normal (having just arrived the chair, we can only trust).
What we liked the most was the cold vulcanized foam for the seat and for the inside of all the cushions in general. The seat is comfortable but not enveloping, designed for those who sit for many hours in front of the computer, even in very stressful sessions.

Our back, badly used to the previous model, took a few days to adapt but now it seems completely perfect.
The shape of the spine, once seated, is narrow to them, ideal for concentrated work without suffering the fatigue caused by a too compliant chair.
The adjustments are firm and precise, in particular on the hardness of the backrest, made with a gauge that is felt at every click.
The cushion: made of Memory Foam and with refreshing gel
The features continue with the armrests that are modeled in 4 dimensions, with precise buttons and activations, a class 4 hydraulics for the seat, in practice the same procedure used in the automotive sector.
And finally, the Memory Foam pillow that not only recalls the shape of your head, but is also internally covered with a refreshing gel so you can rest for a moment between genocide and the next in eSport sessions.
Nice to look at
But what appears clearer for those who use it but also for others is that the Secret Lab Titan 2020 is above all beautiful to look at. For those who love the strong flavor of design, damn beautiful.
The color of the seams, the play of different materials, the absolute sensation of precision, we can say, quality automotive that you notice is clear and satisfying from a first glance.
The materials to the touch appear important and the design is, given the need for a comfortable seat and an aggressive, decisive look.
We were undecided about the purchase of this model, especially for the fact of buying a chair without the possibility of trying it, however the trust was rewarded: not that the alternatives we had evaluated (the Italian Arozzi Verona Pro V2 or Icon by Noblechairs) they were outdone, and probably offer similar characteristics, however the feeling of this Titan satisfies us with the economic effort that, we hope, will last several years.
Regarding this detail, the standard 3-year warranty for the chair can be extended to five by posting the photo of the chair on a social network: another very intriguing marketing idea.
Considerations
The world of office chairs is very varied in quality, type and prices, so it would certainly be unprofessional to say that this is the best office chair on the market because, like, this judgment is absolutely subjective.
But the feeling it gives is the same as when, after months or years of use, even satisfied with your own car, you sit on a new custom-built car. It is simply another world: everything is in the right place, everything works with a precision and a certainty that you never even imagined before, everything is simply in the right place.
Does all this cost? Yes, absolutely, it is undeniable that this Secret Lab Titan 2020 is the result of a choice not by chance and, leave us the term, also of a work need, even if it is not an exclusive requirement.
The chair is beautiful, very beautiful and guarantees satisfaction in every detail: between having a comfortable model, a beautiful one with an aggressive look and, we do not hide it, you steal the eye in streaming, we have chosen to have it all.
