Set Firefox as the default browser on Windows? Now it's as easy as with Edge

Have you ever tried to set a browser as the default in Windows 10? The process is far from simple, unless you choose Microsoft's preferred setting: Edge. From today, however, the thing has been made very easy for those who habitually use Firefox . Thanks to a bit of cunning, a bit of reverse engineering and a lot of boredom from waiting for Redmond to make everything more practical for users, now you just need a click directly from within the browser Mozilla alternative.

In fact, the engineers of the Firefox team have tried to understand how Microsoft allowed its program to be recognized as the default choice and have successfully applied it to their browser as well. So the novelty was silently introduced with a recent update and after your click Firefox will do all the rest of the work in the background.

The current difficulties are actually due to well-founded security concerns by Microsoft in preventing the fraudulent behavior that some applications could exploit, so much so that with the release of Windows 11 they will be further strengthened.

If life were complicated for everyone, however, probably the other rivals would not have much to complain about, however the system seems to favor Edge.

Mozilla has decided not to accept the situation, but for now it has not been followed by other companies. We will see then how the picture will evolve in the coming weeks .
