In fact, the engineers of the Firefox team have tried to understand how Microsoft allowed its program to be recognized as the default choice and have successfully applied it to their browser as well. The current difficulties are actually due to well-founded security concerns by Microsoft in preventing the fraudulent behavior that some applications could exploit, so much so that with the release of Windows 11 they will be further strengthened.
