We are talking about a certainly not high-end pair of headphones, which have a price list of just € 79.99 (but they are often on offer at € 59.99). This is an average price, which moves away from those totally useless headphones of a few tens of euros, as well as distances itself from other peripherals for hundreds and hundreds of euros. Let's start with aesthetics, since the eye also wants its part. Soundcore Life Q30 looks really good, and immediately after taking them out of the package you immediately notice a notable detail: size and shape of the ear cups. Unlike what happens with many headphones, Soundcore has chosen a totally round shape, therefore not oval like other competitors. This, together with the larger than normal size, allows these Q30s to be worn in a really comfortable way, more than other products in the same price range do. It will also be the low weight, the very soft materials of the ear cups, as well as that of the headband, the fact is these headphones are more comfortable than average.
The plastic materials that make up 90% of the headset are not at the top, but even in this case we noticed a slightly better-than-average workmanship. The headphones are really neat, and you can feel it in the arch extension mechanism, with a much more refined design than usual, which leaves no metal to sight, and which does not renounce a harmonious folding system, where all the elements seem attention to detail. The keys return a classic “plasticky” pressure, and in this you can slightly notice the economic nature of the headphones.
From the point of view of materials and construction, we unreservedly promote these headphones, certainly starting from the price: they are still cheap headphones.
How Soundcore Life Q30 sound
Even before testing the sound, these headphones give us hope when turned off. Or rather, after pressing the power button, without starting any song, they already show what they are capable of. Three modes to test even before starting a song: normal, ANC and transparency. They work. When turned off, nothing to observe in normal mode, which still manages to absorb a good 10% of noise, thanks to the over ear pavilions. By activating the transparency mode, you immediately realize that you are losing this 10% of isolation, and indeed of gaining a little bit in listening to external noises. Finally, with the ANC active, even with headphones off, the reduction of many small external disturbances is immediately perceived. Just to make you better understand: we write this article with a very noisy mechanical keyboard, and even when turned off these headphones are able to muffle the noise of the keys, which obviously does not disappear completely.
Once the piece starts, you immediately notice an excellent overall sound quality. In this sense, the three modes just described, with the music on, still continue to work well, even if the difference between one and the other is attenuated. These are small facets that, in one case or another, can certainly improve listening, but that don't really make a big difference. For example, at medium-high volume, the transparency mode will not do miracles at all, just as the ANC from “inside” does not seem to differ much from the “public transport” or “open” one. These three ANC modes, which can be selected from the Soundcore app (from the headphones you can switch from ANC to normal to Transparency), all seem similar to each other anyway. As mentioned, these are very subtle facets.
The quality and audio power delivered are particularly remarkable. The ANC does not darken the audio at all, which is always full-bodied, full, with normally evident basses, which do not bother: they are there, they are easily perceptible, and they do not hurt. Obviously they are not headphones for audiophiles, but the sonic result is exceptional, especially considering the price. The headphones reach good audio peaks, although not very high, and probably for this reason they are able to maintain a certain control, without smudging. The voice of the singers, even in ANC mode, is still precise, although probably to enhance it better the normal mode is the ideal choice.
A little gem is represented by the sleep mode which can be controlled from the app. From this menu you can choose different sounds to fall asleep better, complete with an auto shut-off timer. It is possible to simulate the sound of the sea, that of rain, a storm, the wind, the singing birds, and others. This is a small addition, but it seems really nice and curious to us, even if you will hardly be able to go to bed with a pair of headphones of this size.

Do you recommend? Absolutely yes. Passed with flying colors, especially in relation to the competition in the same price range. More elegant design than other competitors, good materials and excellent construction. The ANC does its job, obviously without reaching the peaks of a much higher cost headset. Overall audio quality is great in any music department.
