Home Reviews ,,,,, What are the most original covers of the moment for those who have an iPhone X and iPhone 8? With little doubt we can tell you that they are definitely the Spigen Classic One and the Spigen Classic C1. We have already detailed the originality in the articles with which we presented these accessories, two protective covers that could be like many others, but that the Korean company has been able to transform into two icons that those who are passionate about the Apple brand cannot miss . The Spigen Classic One is in fact designed to transform the iPhone into an original iPhone, the Spigen Classic C1 into a sort of close relative of the original iMac. Now we have had the opportunity to try them and we will tell you how they are made, strengths, defects and above all if the excellent impressions that arouse to see them in photography survive a direct test.
The first contact with the covers
Spigen is not one of the many manufacturers of cases, but an established brand capable of placing itself at a high level in the quality of products even without forcing you to pay a high cost to purchase them. The packaging of the cases immediately confirmed the reputation for the care that Spigen puts into its products. It is a small box made of cardboard from which a drawer is extracted inside which we find the cases. Both covers are sold and presented in the same way, without any difference.
What makes the difference, however, is the style. As mentioned, the Classic One cover accurately reproduces the back of an original iPhone, the 2G that never arrived (officially) in Italy and was launched on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the iPhone; therefore it is two-tone, gray and black; the Spigen Classic C1 instead has a style that closely resembles the original iMac. The version we tested is Bondi Blue, with the lower part in semi-transparent opaque white, but you can also find them Blueberry, Sage, Ruby, Snow, Graphite, Grape. The colored plastic part reveals a reproduction of the circuits, as if you could see the inside of the phone.

Here we see it reproduced inside the case The internal plastic is soft and acts as a cushion Here is the plastic, Bondi Blue color Translucent plastic, as in the original iMac The “circuits” exposed, without the Bondi Blue cover The fully assembled Classic C1 The perfect cutout for the camera. You notice the increase in thickness but also the important protective factor The lower part with the Classic C1 mounted. Note that all holes are free The Spigen Classic One reproduces the back of the original iPhone Inside, the commemorative inscription At the bottom, the rubber is similar to the one that Apple isolates for the iPhone 2G The Spigen Classi One only with the soft part. Still the Classic One, but fully assembled From this photo you can see, thanks to the hole, the difference in the important thickness Another image that gives the idea of the increase in thickness
Spigen Classic C1 and Spigen Classic One, how they are made
The two covers belong to the class of protective cases, halfway between those that protect the phone from almost every accident and those that aim only to prevent the device from being damaged by a casual bump or being scratched in the pocket or for having done so. slip on a table. They are made of different materials and in separate pieces. The phone is first wrapped in a rather soft and elastic TPU case. In turn, this part of the cover, which is a kind of shock absorber, is wrapped in an outer shell of rigid polycarbonate, which is the part that assigns the design to the case and offers rigidity and impact protection.
About design. Certainly the most sophisticated and meticulous, as well as pleasant, is that of the Spigen Classic C1. The materials are if not the same as the original iMac, they are very similar indeed. Spigen also applied the slogan that was used by Apple to launch the computer: Hello Again.
The Classic One is simpler: the TPU is black and smooth, the outside is silver and black. In addition it is made in two parts, while the Spigen Classic 1 is made in three pieces.
Spigen Classic C1 and Spigen Classic One, usage impressions
The design of the two covers is really very credible and pleasant and they do exactly what they were born for: recalling in a funny and ironic way, two important moments of the past of Apple's design. The aesthetic effect is very credible and well executed. In particular, we really liked the Spigen Classic C1, for the touch of color and the attention to detail and design. The Spigen Classic One is more common in colors and materials, but those who remember the first iPhone can only admit that it is a very accurate reproduction of what is the father of all Apple smartphones. The only perceptible difference at first glance is in the dimensions.
From a functional point of view we are faced with two covers that offer a medium-high degree of protection. The phone appears to be definitely protected by a series of precautions, such as the composite material of the case, and by the abundance of plastics. The inner part acts as a cushion, a shock absorber. The external polycarbonate part, on the other hand, is designed to withstand impacts. This is nothing unusual from this point of view, there are many cases of this type on the market but none are designed like the Spigen Classic C1 and Spigen Classic One. However, it is also not surprising that protective cases such as those of Spigen end up affecting the size of the phone.
In fact, the two cases of Spigen are very punitive in particular for the thickness, from this point of view. The iPhone X once the case is on will also become significantly more uncomfortable to hold due to the increasing width and domed design. So if the iPhone X is certainly much more protected and marked by an original design, it will certainly be less easy to handle and put in your pocket. This problem could also be more evident if you have an iPhone 8 Plus which, surrounded by the Spigen Classic One, will assume very important dimensions
Conclusions
The Spigen Classic C1 and the Spigen Classic One are two very well designed covers and created with great care of the materials. They produce a credible nostalgia effect and will not fail to go unnoticed. In addition, they give the iPhone X the ability to withstand even major drops and bumps. On the other hand, they openly and explicitly alter, since they are built for this, the style of the phone, increasing, like all protective covers, dimensions and weight.
Our advice is to buy them if you are looking for a case that can protect your iPhone X beyond the level that a common case is capable of but at the same time you do not want to rely on anonymous or boring design products. We advise you to think about it if you want to highlight the style of the phone instead and if you hate the idea of having a bigger and thicker phone than the iPhone X. In this case they may not be for you.
