Home iPhonia iPhone Accessories ,,,,,In the universe of headphones, the TaoTronics TT-BH15 stand out for their power and soundproofing, a pair of headphones that we tried for a few days alongside our iPhone when listening to music at home and outdoors.
They proved to be very good in the quality / price ratio, charged at the low end and with a system of fins and rubber pads that guarantee high stability in parallel with excellent soundproofing from external noise.
What's in the box
In the package we find, in addition to the headphones, a sachet containing a microUSB cable for charging about ten centimeters long and a series of fins and rubber pads of two additional sizes to those already mounted in the headphones, the user manual and a coupon for the warranty.
How they are made
First of all, the cable is just 60 centimeters long. It is therefore on average shorter than what we find in other headphones of this kind, with the advantage therefore of not having too much excess falling behind the neck, with all the problems that would ensue by combining them with runs or workouts in the gym.
A few centimeters away from the right earphone we find, connected to the cable, the remote control that allows you to manage music playback, volume and phone calls, as well as being able to call up the voice assistant with a double click of the central button.
The earphones are completely particular and different from the usual, characterized by a metal ring that surrounds the external flat surface and which denotes a certain care in the design of the headphones. On the outer side of the latter there is a magnet that allows them to be closed around the neck – for example – in the breaks between one workout and another, without the risk of them falling out by simply letting them hang over the shoulders.
The earphones offer a system of fins (interchangeable, of different sizes) to increase stability when inserted into the ear cavity. This is a feature that we also find in other headphones for sportsmen but which in this case are enhanced in adherence by the rubber surface, much wider and which surrounds practically the entire internal facade of each headset.
Soundproofing
What strikes you immediately, even before you start playing an album, is the soundproofing of the headphones. As we explained earlier, part of the credit goes to the large rubber surface of the lugs, even if the “dirty work” is mainly done by the in-ear rubbers. Once the right size is found, an excellent vacuum is created inside the ear which isolates a lot from external noises.
At the time of writing we are trying them again. Without music, we barely hear the noise of the robot vacuum cleaner cleaning the adjacent room (the door connecting the two rooms is open). Listening to any song, even with the audio at minimum (25-50%), you are completely immersed in listening to music, completely isolating yourself from external noises.
The same soundproofing is also guaranteed outdoors. Walking around the city with music in your ears it is really difficult to hear the roar of the engine of cars or mopeds, if not at the very moment in which they whiz by a few meters away. For this reason they are much more suitable in the gym, where you can easily isolate yourself from the music playing on the wall speakers and from the shouts of the effort of the other customers who are training.
How are they doing
Audio quality is generally good. They push a lot in the bass, the frequencies are well balanced. Of course, we are not dealing with a headset for audiophiles, but to give themselves the charge during sporting activity they do their duty. The songs are slightly darker and muffled than the same ones played with the iPhone speaker, which instead ensures a clearer and more crystalline sound.
During the tests we were struck by the stability in the Bluetooth connection with the smartphone. In the past, we happened to lose the signal when, headphones in our ears, we moved to the farthest room of the house, leaving the phone charging near the front door. With the TaoTronics TT-BH15, in this test, the signal was never lost.
We also did some on-call tests. In the past, it has happened that, during this mode of use, we noticed a slight loss of signal when, for example, headphones were used with a wall to separate them from the paired phone. With these we have not noticed any problems of this kind: deepening the subject, from the user manual we discovered that the headphones integrate a ceramic antenna designed precisely to offer a signal as strong and clear as possible.
Conclusions
For those who want to train in the gym, the TaoTronics TT-BH15 could be the ideal choice. As already widely explained, they amaze for the high soundproofing, moreover the quality is good and they push a lot to the bass, therefore ideal to give yourself a boost.
The stability of the signal is also very good, leaving them preferable to other headphones if the intention is to train and leave the smartphone perhaps connected in Bluetooth and well protected inside the bag pocket a few meters away.
