Today comes the news from the Antitrust Authority (AGCM) of the conclusion of three proceedings against Unieuro and its subsidiary Monclick , Leroy Merlin and Mediamarket (MediaWorld) which led to a total fine of 10.9 million euro .
The fine was divided as follows: Unieuro for 4 million, Mediamarket for 3.6 million, Leroy Merlin for 3 million and Monclick for 300 thousand euros. The reason is obviously explained in the press release issued by itself AGCM .
There is clearly talk of incorrect conduct , differentiated for each of the companies mentioned but all attributable to two practices: “the critical issues relating to the moment of the offer of products on the website, the other to the recorded malfunctions after the online purchase “, quoting the press release to the letter.
The press release explicitly mentions the dissemination of inaccurate and misleading information, also with regard to delivery times; the unilateral cancellation of orders ; the delayed or failure delivery of the products purchased and regularly paid for by consumers; misleading information on the status of shipments and much more. For those curious we will report the entire press release below.
In fact, there are many reports in these times of customers who have not always managed to make purchases correctly, not only on the aforementioned online stores, or who have run into problems with shipping, payment and the like. The current emergency situation has certainly not helped, but the AGCM has certainly not seen us as an excuse, on the contrary.
