Here comes the usual report on the quality of fixed network operators in Italy made by nPerf . The data provide an excellent overview of the quality offered by the various fixed network operators and refers to the whole of 2021 just ended.
In the ranking we find all the operators with whom nPerf users have performed tests during the year. We are talking about 1 million tests , the graph below shows how the percentages were distributed based on the number of tests performed on the various operators in classification.
Fastweb and WindTre won the medal for the best performances , with almost ex aequo . The table below shows how the two operators showed the best performances in terms of download speed and latency . WindTre stands out in 2021 with the best download speed ( 126 Mb / s , i.e. + 56% compared to 2020), while Tiscali and Fastweb are very close, with more than 120 Mb / s each. Tiscali has the best average upload speed ( 59 Mb / s ), followed by Fastweb, which exceeds 52 Mb / s .
WindTre and Fastweb are also first in terms of latency, with about 27 ms , while the others chase with parameters higher than 33 ms .
By analyzing only the networks in FTTH fiber , Fastweb still proves to be at the top and increases the gap with the other 3 operators: the operator scored the best upload speed ( 176 Mb / s ) and the best latency ( 17 ms ), while TIM stands out with the best download speed in the country ( 355 Mb / s ).
nPerf specifies that the ranking does not include Eolo , Linkem and Sky Wif due to the small number of tests performed. Clearly, Iliad is not present either since it was not on the market last year. For more details you can however refer to our tests.
