The Google search screen is populated on desktop: some widgets in test

Since its inception, the Google search screen has been characterized by a minimal design : this in fact simply shows the company logo and the search bar, as well as a few quick links to other features. However, all this may soon change.

In fact, Google would have started testing a new feature: for some users, the search screen now shows widgets at the bottom, in the Google Discover style of Android. The widgets in question, that can be deactivated using a switch located at the bottom , are six and concern information weather , trend news , advice on which show to watch , stock news, nearby events and COVID . Clicking on one of these widgets opens a slightly larger screen showing more information.

As mentioned, at the moment it is basically a test for a very small number of users and therefore it is not sure that this function will really arrive for everyone (or at least, not in a short time).
