The great Nothing Ear (1) that we already reviewed when they came out are now better than ever. The first Nothing headphones, which have been an absolute success with almost half a million units sold, keep updating to gain new features. They are in an intermediate step compared to AirPods Pro in terms of quality of sound, but thanks to their much lower price they are a great option.
In this sense, the Nothing Ear (1) has just been updated to be compatible with Siri, so now they are closer than the AirPods Pro in terms of basic functionality. Logically, they are not the same when it comes to audio quality. They also don't have spatial audio, but for its price, below 100 euros, you can't ask for more.
In addition, right now they are on sale on Amazon, so they can be a very interesting alternative if you are looking for high-quality headphones to listen to music.
The Nothing Ear (1) now support Siri
In this sense, with the latest app and firmware update of Nothing Ear (1), they are now compatible with all voice assistants, depending on the operating system. You can invoke Siri from either earphone. They do not, however, have active listening like the AirPods Pro. That is, no “Hey Siri”, you will have to use the touch controls of the headphones.
They are compatible with iOS and Android, to name two operating systems, include active noise cancellation, transparency mode and a charging case with Qi-compatible wireless charging and a USB-C port. Keep in mind, however, that quick pairing is only compatible with Android devices, so in that sense they will not be as recommended as AirPods in ecosystems such as iOS, for use with the iPhone or the Apple Watch.
That's why, while they do include Bluetooth 5.2, and some on-paper features better than AirPods Pro, they lack Apple-specific features, like auto-pairing, that are only offered by devices with the H1 chip.
Be that as it may, Siri's arrival in the Some features, such as Bluetooth 5.2, three microphones per earbud, and the weight of the earbud, are actually better on paper than AirPods Pro, but still lack Apple-specific features, such as auto pairing with H1 chip.
Be that as it may, the arrival of Siri to the Nothing Ear (1) brings them a little closer to the AirPods Pro, especially for the incredible price they have right now.
