The Obi-Wan Kenobi series would already have an actor to bring the Grand Inquisitor to life

Although The Book of Boba Fett is still on everyone's lips, since last week the rumors about Obi-Wan Kenobi have intensified; which will apparently be the next Star Wars series on Disney Plus. Now information is emerging about an actor who would have joined the cast to play a key character. We are talking about the Grand Inquisitor, whom we already saw generate fear in Star Wars: Rebels.

According to a report by Bespin Bulletin, Rupert Friend will be responsible for giving life to the Grand Inquisitor in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The aforementioned medium claims to have a couple of reliable sources that provide the same information, however, on our part we must take it with tweezers until it is official.

Who is Rupert Friend? Although he hasn't had any really relevant roles in his career, you may remember him for donning the suit of Agent 47 in Hitman . He has also participated in other projects such as At Eternity's Gate, The Death of Stalin, Homeland and Georgia, to name a few.

Also, Bespin Bulletin mentions that Obi-Wan Kenobi will have the presence of at least three Inquisitors. In the universe created by George Lucas, these characters are in charge of hunting down the Jedi who survived Order 66 —executed by Emperor Palpatin in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith—. They have appeared in comics, in the aforementioned Star Wars: Rebels (animated series) and even in the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Date register at Disney Plus now and save thanks to the annual subscription, with which you can enjoy its entire catalog of series and movies, access to the latest releases, the Star catalog and the best National Geographic documentaries.

The Inquisitors will appear in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi'

Given that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be set just 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, it stands to reason that the Inquisitors will play a significant role. In fact, the concept art of the series already showed an Inquisitor getting off a ship.

Over the weekend we let you know that a Disney Plus manager mistakenly announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi will be released next May. His publication, shared through Twitter, was deleted moments later; but some managed to take a screenshot to spread the news. Rumors point to May 4, the date on which Star Wars Day is celebrated. Possibly in the coming weeks we will have official news.
