For its next top of the range, Samsung could go against the tide of its main competitors, installing less capacious batteries than its predecessors on the Galaxy S22.
According to rumors reported by GalaxyClub, Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to mount a drive of around 3,700mAh typical (3,590mAh minimum), a reduction of almost 10% compared to the 4,000mAh typical (3,880 minimum) of the Galaxy S21.
The same should happen with the Galaxy S22 Plus, for which a 4,600mAh battery is rumored against the previous 4,800, while the Ultra model should be the only one to maintain a 5,000mAh battery, the same seen on the S21 Ultra. Obviously, a smaller battery will allow to contain the overall weight of the device, but will require greater efforts for the development and implementation of less energy-intensive solutions. Among these we can mention the new Eco2OLED displays, already seen on Galaxy Z Fold 3 and which promise energy savings of about 25%.
