The temporary permit with which Huawei can continue doing business in the United States has been extended

The United States has extended the temporary permit with which Huawei can continue to do business in the country by 90 days despite the ban decided in late May by the Donald Trump administration. The extension of the temporary permit, announced today by US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, means that Huawei, among other things, will be able to continue offering its customers Google services, on all Android operating systems.

Huawei, which in recent years has become one of the most promising technology companies on the market, will therefore not have to give up the license for the Android operating system again, as foreseen by the May ban. According to some, the extension of the license is an attempt to allow Huawei to continue doing business in the United States, thus giving the company more time to comply with the demands of the Trump administration; according to others, however, the postponement was decided to allow US companies that do business with Huawei to prepare more calmly for the entry into force of the ban.

For months, the United States government has accused Huawei of spying on behalf of the Chinese government, inserting systems into its devices that would allow it to monitor the activities of those who use them. To date, however, no convincing evidence has been provided on these allegations, which Huawei has always rejected.
