Home Hi-Tech Hardware and Peripherals ,,,,, Testing a keyboard is particularly simple, due to the fact that we usually write the reference article, precisely with the device under review. We will be no exception for the Topolek combo, which offers a wireless keyboard and mouse at a very competitive price. Let's see how it will behave in the writing of this article.
Keyboard
First of all, the aesthetics. The Topolek keyboard has rather generous dimensions. It is a full keyboard, with function keys above the numbers and a numeric keypad on the right side. Compatible with Mac and PC, it is flanked by a really small wireless receiver, and therefore uses non-bluetooth wireless connections. This means that you will need to insert the proprietary wireless key for the accessory to work correctly, as you will not be able to use the internal bluetooth of the Mac or Macbook.
The keyboard is completely black, but there is a brushed pattern on the top, which seems to give it a more modern look. The materials, to tell the truth, seem quite cheap to us, with plastics that are certainly not among the best on the market. Nevertheless, it writes very well, being able to type the keys very quickly, with a very low margin of error. The travel of the keys is not maximum, like the old keyboards that for many remain the most comfortable, but it does not even reach historical lows, like the Apple butterfly keyboards.
The keyboard is certainly not among the quietest keyboards. It's not even the loudest, but it sure makes itself heard with every beat. The noise, however, is compensated by the comfort when typing. As already mentioned, you can write very quickly, with rather low margins of error.
Below the keyboard two small flaps, which allow you to raise it and make typing even more comfortable. Only one mini stylus battery is required to use it, while the mouse requires two. It is not backlit, but this also allows for superior longevity compared to other devices with backlight.
The presence of a numeric pad is a plus for those who work with numbers, and cannot make use of a dedicated space for typing the digits. Overall, considering the overall price of the bundle, the keyboard satisfies us: not precious materials, not too quiet, but allows you to type at full speed.
Mouse
The paired mouse also made a good impression on us. It has small dimensions (a rather large hand might find it small), the plastics are not refined or of quality, but overall it is particularly precise, with two speeds adjustable directly from a small button on the top. Obviously, the speed can be adjusted via software from Windows or macOS. The central wheel for scrolling internet pages or applications is unmissable.
The two clickable keys, unlike the keyboard, are really silent, with a minimal but well noticeable excursion. The click of the two buttons is really comfortable.
Conclusions
For those looking for a wireless mouse and keyboard combo at the right price, this Topelek could be appreciable. It costs very little, it is a complete keyboard, complete with a numeric pad and function keys, with a precise mouse next to it with a comfortable click. The plastics used are not of excellent workmanship, but it is the compromise to keep the list price low.
It costs 24.49 euros on Amazon and can be purchased directly at this address.
