Twitter and Bitcoin: in the USA, cryptocurrency can be sent via the app

In May of this year, Twitter announced Tip Jar , a method to exchange money within the application, using services already known to users such as Venmo o PayPal: now the company wants to go further and has started the tests for the cryptocurrency exchange .

In particular, to process payments in Bitcoin (the only cryptocurrency currently supported) the company relies on Strike , Bitcoin wallet based on the Lightning Network protocol, which guarantees faster and cheaper transactions than competitors . Users will be able to save a wallet address on their profile to receive payments. However, this service is only available in the United States (excluding New York and Hawaii) and in El Salvador.

However, Twitter's vision does not end here: always remaining in the field of crypto and blockchains, the company wants to implement the support for authentication of NFTs directly in the mobile application, in order to make it as easy as possible to buy and sell non-fungible token .
