Twitter has initiated the distribution of a new verification request process and to review public verification questions on the platform. In fact, the new guidelines have the purpose of encouraging safer conversations for the betterment of the Twitter community in general.
To access the verification process, you must fall into one of the six categories listed below:
- Government Officials
- Companies, brands and organizations
- Newspapers and journalists
- Entertainment
- Sports and gaming
- Activists and influencers
To this must also be added the completeness of the account, that is, the user who submits the request must have a profile name, a profile picture and a confirmed e-mail address or telephone number. . In addition, the account must also have been active in the past six months and demonstrate a positive record of compliance with the Twitter rules.
In the coming weeks, all Twitter users will start seeing the new verification application directly in the Settings tab. The release for all accounts will be phased in to ensure timely review of all applications. Once the application has been sent, which will be examined and, in case, approved , the user will automatically see the blue symbol appear on their profile. In case of error , on the other hand, the application can be presented again after 30 days have elapsed after receiving the response on the previous application.
