HomeMacityAudio / Video / TV / Streaming When it comes to true wireless earphones, the panorama is truly vast, and fortunately nowadays it is possible to buy quality peripherals, without necessarily spending crazy money. There are many brands that have specialized in this sector, and among these also UGREEN, of which today we are testing HiTune X6. These are rather cheap earphones, which usually have a price list of around 60 euros, but which can currently be purchased for 40 euros thanks to the coupon on Amazon. Looking at the price, therefore, one might think of a non-quality peripheral. Still, these HiTune X6s positively surprised us.
The packaging
UGREEN has focused more on substance than on form. The packaging, in fact, is rather slim, and goes straight to the point. Opening it there is the charging case, inside which the two earphones are positioned, while just below there are two pairs of silicone rubber pads which, together with those already installed, provide small, medium and large sizes, to adapt the earphones in the ears. Beyond the manuals there is also a small USB-C cable for charging the case.
How they are made
Net of what may be the aesthetic preferences of each, it must be said that these UGREEN HiTune X6 are still original and come with a design that mixes a little the characteristics of button earphones, or others with the stem stretched. And in fact, although there is a small stem, this is rather stocky, different from AirPods, and takes on almost the shape of an oval, making the earbuds look like button style. In reality, the shape is quite original, different from the usual.
You might like it, or not, like everything, but in the opinion of the writer they are pleasant and leave themselves well worn on the ears. Having to find a negative element, however, we report the slight difficulty in extracting them from the case, because they slip and do not leave much space for grip. The situation is different for the insertion inside the case, which is always easy and intuitive.
We found them really comfortable and stable to the ear from the first try: they are safely inside the pavilion, and do not tend to fall. They are not earphones with fins, so it is difficult to recommend them for jogging, although in fact we have tried to wear them while running outdoors with sufficient results.
As for the control, this UGREEN has opted for touch controls, without the presence of physical buttons on each ear cup. This makes it easy to control music, answer calls, call up the voice assistant, activate ANC or gaming mode, and even change the volume. Moreover, the smart choice to print all the controls on the upper cardboard of the package: in this way you will immediately have the complete panorama of all the touch controls available for these earphones.
The commands generally respond well, even if double-clicking the volume is actually a bit inconvenient. Not because it is not recognized, but because it will take a few seconds too long to get the volume from one extreme to the other.
How do they work
If the price of l istino discounted to 40 euros could suggest peripherals of insufficient quality, this is not the case. Far from it. The sound is decidedly clean, full-bodied, and even the basses are felt sufficiently, present and well enjoyable, without however being too pumped. Absolutely enjoyable any type of music, even if there is a slight tendency to colder tones for the voice. To obtain a warmer tone, however, the activation of the ANC comes to the rescue, to which we will return shortly. By activating the noise reduction we seemed to obtain a better quality of music and voice, which overall turns out to be more consistent.
While ANC as a whole appears to improve quality, it does not seem capable of reducing ambient sounds so evidently. Not that the earphones do not ensure good isolation, which is always present, but the difference between the different ones between ANC on and off are not as noticeable as in other more expensive models.
There is also a gaming mode. Also in this case its activation does not seem to bring particularly evident improvements. In fact, this happens because the overall sound quality is already very good, and activating this mode does not seem to add a tangible quid.
Call quality
It will be thanks to the six integrated microphones: the call quality is really good. With HiTune X6 you can face conversations of medium to long duration, receiving. a crystalline voice from our interlocutor, who always listens to us clearly. Therefore, they are also excellent for telephone conversations.
Autonomy and recharge
The manufacturer claims 6 hours of playback on a single charge, which seems to us in line with the data we recorded during our tests. With the charging case, on the other hand, 26 hours of total duration are reached. On the other hand, the fast recharge function is excellent: with 10 minutes you get about 1 hour of playback, while fully charging the earphones takes place in an hour and a half. Instead, it takes approximately 2 hours to complete charging the case.
Conclusions
If we look at the current price of 39 euros with the discount offered on Amazon, we can only recommend the purchase of these headphones. Sure, they're not the best in ANC, but the overall quality is excellent for what they cost. They wear well, the design is original, and even the charging cover has its own style.
These UGREEN HiTune X6 are yet another example of how nowadays you can buy good earphones without spending much higher amounts. Present the bass, excellent in telephone conversations, they do not even renounce a particularly high autonomy.
