As nerve-wracking as it can be to queue on the highway during our travels, starting from September 15th these stories could have a new twist as travelers will be able to count on real ones refunds . Aspi is about to launch the c ashback , envisaged as part of the strategic transformation plan of Autostrade per l'Italia, on its sections of competence, and which will be accessible via the Free To X app, which can already be downloaded on Android and iOS devices.
Following a test phase implemented during the past summer months, the application can now be used by the general public and will allow users to report all those delays that go beyond the average crossing times of a given route. This measure allows users to have interactive services available, in such a way as to know the status of traffic in real time and thus be able to request a refreshment of the toll only in case of times exceeding the reference standard due to the presence of construction sites for works along the motorway network.
The Cashback will be recognized starting from short itineraries (from 15 minutes delay) allowing reimbursements from 25% to 100% of the toll, based on the actual travel time and the length of the journey.
It will also be valid for different types of transit, such as:
- Routes with entry and exit on the Aspi network;
- Routes with entry on the Aspi network and exit on another concessionaire;
- Routes with entrance to another concessionaire and exit to the Aspi network;
- Routes with entrance and exit to another concessionaire, with crossing on the Aspi network.
Refunds will be issued both for payments with electronic toll devices and for those made with credit cards, debit cards, Viacard and cash . In the first case in particular, users will have to enter the data concerning the chosen device and thus automatically receive the notification of the cashback, then only going to confirm the itinerary. In the second case, however, it will be necessary to simply send a photo of the payment receipt obtained at the exit toll booth via the app.
The experimental phase in progress, which will be in force until December 31, 2021, provides that reimbursements are accumulated in the “purse” section of the app, to then be paid starting from January 2022 on the your current account through a bank transfer or by invoice from the electronic toll operator.
