In a market that has exploded in recent months like that of truly wireless earphones, the shapes all look the same but once worn, each headset has its reason to exist and, as soon as worn, the xFyro ANC Pro offers the first sensation of comfort and many details emerge later.

Large
The contents of the package are predictable, even if not obvious: in addition to the headphones and the cradle for charging, in which black dominates, there is a small (and short, a little too much) USB-A / USB-C cable for the main charge, a small instruction booklet (essential, because you need to understand how the headphones work) and the two changes of headphone pads (one larger and one smaller).
After tinkering a bit with the pads to find the right size, we started studying (so to speak, it’s a one-minute operation) of the main controls for the headphones: the operation is necessary because there is no Support app, and everything is left to the commands we give with our fingers.
The first pairing occurs naturally when the cradle is opened and the headphones are worn: they search for the last device used, and if they do not find it, they automatically switch to search mode.
As mentioned there are no support apps (pity), however, a series of LEDs placed outside the headphones and the cradle allows you to understand the status of the earphones and the battery level even without wearing them.
The cradle is comfortable and well designed, the curved shapes fit well in the pocket and do not clutter more than necessary, however, the plastic has a cheap look, which does not affect the overall quality of the headphones, but a little sorry.
As we said the xFyro ANC Pro earphones have a protruding part, similar to the AirPods Pro, which makes them larger than many true wireless models that concentrate everything in a hemispherical section. This means that when I am wearing it is very important to find the right earplug (an operation that we performed and then redone the next day) to avoid imbalance during the walk since the part that protrudes sometimes tends to come out of the housing. in the ear, if we don’t use the right ear cushion.
The sound as we will see is excellent, but if the headset moves from its original position, the sound response suffers.
The controls are a touch on a small limited surface, and comfortable to reach and execute: one or more taps regulate playback, volume, ANC (active noise cancellation, as we will see shortly), and, in theory, also the Gamin Mode.
During the tests we paired the xFyro ANC Pro with an iPhone and an iPad without problems: we used them for listening to music on the move and some movies in the living room, excellent in the first case, probably wasted in the second, but they offer well it supports practically all uses, also considering that they have an IPX5 certification so there is no need to be careful of splashes and dust.
Intelligent silence is good but …
We have been using the xFyro ANC Pro as mentioned for a few weeks, where thanks to the warm season, we have given end to deep walks in the city.
The first exam went on the ANC circuit, dedicated to active noise cancellation: it must be said that using this technology on earphones is very complex, more than using a pair of classic headphones (such as the Sony WH-1000XM4, the EPOS Adapt 660, or the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700) because the earphones cannot use passive noise reduction, given the absence of a pavilion that makes a first cut of the noises.
The xFyro ANC Pros however can use artificial intelligence for active noise reduction, which means that there is a processor that selects which noises can pass and which not, to make external noise lower at the same time but without creating isolation that is alienating or dangerous.
The concrete result is of a system that works but leaves the impression of being able to do more: the frequency cut is weak, in the sense that more noises pass through than we would like, and the difference between the two states is not obvious.
Maybe the way is right, but it takes a lot of work to get the same feel like the most classic headphones, even with the proper proportions.
Another discordant note is that the Gaming Mode function, promised by the instruction booklet (but not advertised on the site) does not activate, at least it did not give us any audible feedback, despite having tried the four taps requested several times.
Last note, the battery life, which is really important (and perhaps the longest of all the models tested: if you use it to go to and from work it risks lasting more than a couple of weeks if you charge it once in ten days in practice are immortal.
Important listening
If for the ANC the xFyro ANC Pro left some perplexity, musically speaking the quality surprised us considerably. Those who like us do this work find themselves trying a lot of different products, in many cases apparently similar, and hardly always manage to convey every detail to the readers.
A striking example is these headphones: even if the aesthetic shape is not original and even the cradle is quite anonymous, the audio quality is among the best we have tried.
The 7 mm drivers, together with the Bluetooth 5 signal work best to carry the entire sound band in its entirety.
During the test phase, we used Spotify for listening to some songs, Netflix, and Plex for some episodes of TV series and some movies. In the films and TV series, the listening appeared good, without particular peaks, but in the music, the quality was perceptible in every single song.
The sound range appears balanced, the bass promising without being intrusive, and the music appears more full-bodied and detailed. The headphones have the “merit” of offering their own distinct musical timbre, albeit without distorting the actual music. We liked the warm tone of some songs, well-marked, even if not intrusive.
We put them to the test with not just songs, starting immediately with something difficult, like Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, even if we first tried to carburetor with Shout by Tears For Fears. The very particular voice of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole appeared good, but at the same time the strength of the voice of Curt Smith of Tears For Fears, much more powerful, did not disfigure. The headphones have never distorted any frequency, not even when we listened to Fuel by Metallica or Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen (in the Remastered 2011 edition), finally accompanying us for the continuous listening to various soundtracks of the Evangelion series, of which these days it is the last chapter released.
The feeling is that this model can duel with a more classic pair of headphones, with the due proportions, as long as you keep them firmly in the cone of the ears: a small movement tends to move the headset and make listening less detailed, especially on the bass.
Overall, however, it is a good pair of In-Ear headphones, which offer an excellent sound and which even with a fairly anonymous (even if cured) aesthetic leave a mark on the market.
Considerations
The xFyro ANC Pro headphones are offered at a price that touches $ 300 on the manufacturer’s website: at the time of writing the price is 50% discounted (with free shipping worldwide) and honestly, this is the correct price range. in which we see them.
The design is good but not too original, the ANC is promising but perhaps still not complete but the sound quality is important and will make those who buy it happy especially for this factor, which alone is worth the (discounted) price.
