Home Reviews ,,,,, The writer is a great admirer of Apple headphones and that is why the final considerations on the Xiaomi Mi Neckband can only be positive. The main feature of this accessory lies in the shape of the earphones, very similar to those of the EarPods.
Choosing one or the other therefore depends not only on the audio quality but also on the use that you intend to make of it: in fact, in the Xiaomi there is the Bluetooth technology that frees you from the constraints of a wire always connected to the multimedia player and you have available also a system to keep them hung around the neck and thus always have them ready for use during the day even if you move a lot.
How they are made
The materials are excellent: the capsules that protect the earphones are in very sturdy shiny plastic, while the joint that holds the wire connected is in soft silicone (so you avoid breaking the cable as it is very flexible). Following the cable, protected by a thin rubber sheath, we arrive at the end of the collar: the tips are in glossy polycarbonate like the earphones, while the band that rests on the neck is in rubber.
It is thin enough not to clutter too much and keep the overall weight low (on our kitchen scale we are around 35 grams) but at the same time it is very flexible, making it really comfortable when placed on the nape of the neck. The side that rests on it is curved while the rear one is flat: it practically looks like a solid tube cut in half, a design choice that we sincerely appreciated because it breaks the monotony of a flat band and improves its comfort.
The controls are located on the left end: a rocker allows you to adjust the volume with a single press or skip tracks with a long press, while the button turns the earphones on and off with a long press, starts or stops music playback with the single click while the double click calls the voice assistant.
Appreciated the presence of the clip that allows you to hook the two cables together: it is certainly not an innovative system but it does its job well and, in this specific case, it is even more comfortable because it not only keeps the two cables close together avoiding that jump all over the place but also allows you to close the circuit, creating a real necklace thus preventing the headphones from falling even during a race.

How are they doing
Even without closing them like a necklace, the headphones remain firmly stable when worn also because the rubber band is slightly bent, actually wrapping partially around the neck.
The winning – or losing, feature depends on the point of view – as we said lies in the earphones: the fit is the same as the EarPods, so those used to using these headphones will not find differences in wearing Xiaomi earphones. They slip into the ears and remain in position without squeezing, without pressure and without recreating that kind of vacuum that distinguishes the classic in-ear rubbers and which, apart from the EarPods, can be avoided in part by opting for Memory Foam solutions that however, they are not always available.
Earphones of this type, however, reduce the number of moving parts, the possible wear of the rubber pads over time and still ensure a certain stability and comfort that, for the writer, has no equal. They take off and put on easily and the amplification of the sound is really excellent.
Like the Apple counterpart, here too the frequencies are separated by two small drivers: one, which directs the sound directly into the ear cavity, the other which instead bounces off the pavilion: what follows is an even more enveloping and powerful audio.
As for the overall audio quality, the Xiaomi Mi Neckband sound very good, with an excellent reproduction of the whole sound spectrum: the highs are ringing, the mids very full-bodied and the basses sufficiently powerful even if, for these frequencies, on the market. same price you can find much better headphones in terms of final volume.
These earphones offer a sound that could be more balanced on the various frequencies, therefore suitable for playing well with most musical genres but not only: the built-in microphone also allows you to manage phone calls, thus being able to leave the phone in your pocket or guarantee better communication match with smartwatch with LTE chip.

Conclusions
The Xiaomi Mi Neckband earphones are in our opinion a good choice for those looking for the Bluetooth version of the EarPods that has actually always been missing: Apple in fact, in embracing wireless technology, has completely eliminated the wires (with the AirPods) by skipping the intermediate step at least in its own brand production and there is no comparable cheap product in the Beats range.
Therefore, those who prefer to have a product that can be hung around the neck and thus have Bluetooth headsets always at hand, can now choose a system that adopts the same type of Apple headset and can steer clear of the in-ear pads, certainly more. stable when worn – therefore more suitable for sports – but in the long run much more uncomfortable if they have to be used all day and every day.
Finally, let's not forget the price: they cost only 30 euros, as much as the official EarPods but are only available with a 3.5mm jack plug, while here there is the Bluetooth technology and the necklace system to expand the possibilities of use.
