Xiaomi has applied for the registration of a new trademark called “ Xiaomi Mobile “. The documentation presented to the Intellectual Property Office suggests that the Chinese technology giant is looking to launch its own telecommunications service.
The second largest smartphone maker in the world has registered several trademarks in recent years. Among them are “Xiaomi Automobiles”, related to its incipient electric car division, “Xiaomi Express” and “Xiaomi Travel”. Now it is the turn of “Xiaomi Mobile”.
According to ITHome, the new brand would be destined to the management of financial properties, sale of advertising and communication services . The registry also exhibits a new logo that resembles a mobile coverage indicator with several lines that, taken together, could be understood as the word “my”.
