Xiaomi reimburses those who bought their first smartphone

Xiaomi's first smartphone, the Mi 1, was launched in the Chinese market way back in 2011. The first model was certainly a reference point for the company, offering an excellent device at an affordable price, almost three years before OnePlus did the same.

Now, Xiaomi has announced that it will grant refunds to anyone who pre-ordered and then purchased the Mi 1. According to Xiaomi, it initially sold 184,600 units for 1,999 yuan (€ 263), then 370 million yuan, or 48 million euros today.

The company's post on Weibo states that this refund takes the form of an online store credit, not a cash refund of course. However, it is a very interesting way for a company to recognize its early consumers. With the coupon you will not be able to buy a top of the Xiaomi range, but surely devices like Redmi Note 10 Pro and Poco X3 Pro can be an excellent solution. Alternatively, the company also offers a number of gadgets and wearables.
