In recent years, we have seen the success of short vertical video content , made famous by platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, with its Reels . For about two years, YouTube has also brought something similar with Shorts , which now reach a notable milestone.
In a letter from YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki , after talking about the interest of the service in NFT, some data was given space interesting statistics on the video sharing platform: in particular, regarding YouTube Shorts , the CEO announced that total views have been exceeded 5 trillion in less than two years.
This is a really important number for the company, given that Shorts really arrived for everyone only last year (even if the tests had started in India already in 2020 ). The post also announces the expansion of the “Remix” feature and that YouTube is testing new ways for creators to monetize Shorts.
